Human Sexuality & Relationship Specialist
Credible, compassionate support anywhere, anytime, online.
Growing up as a typical tomboy in the heart of rural Africa, I spent my childhood riding horses, building forts in the forest, and feeling like I didn’t quite fit in anywhere; especially into society's box of expectations. I dreamed of adventures beyond the small town and closed community I grew up in.

Today, I embrace many roles: yoga teacher, scuba instructor, fur-baby mom, wife, aunt, sister, daughter, friend, therapist, consultant, justice advocate, WOMAN.

Between and beyond these labels, I am simply a human being fiercely committed to freedom and deeply curious about the human experience.

I did get eventually out of that small town, and my life's journey has taken me all over the world, where I immersed myself in different populations, cultures and religions, and learned to appreciate the intricate tapestry of human behavior, and ultimately the interconnectedness of humanity. This passion for understanding the whole through its various parts led me to the fascinating world of Sexology.

My life’s journey has included some wild adventures WITHIN myself too, some of which were very painful. I've faced my own challenges, questioned my identity and sexuality, grappled with self-destructive tendencies and internalized shame, and learned to transmute the pain of my own traumatic experiences into compassionate action.

Compassionate action towards truth lies at the heart of my work.

I graduated from the International Academy of Sexology in 2020 and maintain the highest ethical standards set forth by the Council of Sexual Health Professions South Africa. I continue to study under the mentorship of Professor Johann Lemmer in pursuit of my PhD.

Beyond my private practice, I am deeply committed to supporting survivors of sexual crime and domestic violence. I am honoured to be a board member of the Jasriel Foundation; advocating for the rights of victims and educating communities through sport.

Sexuality is a powerful force, capable of creating life and destroying it. It is intricately woven into our past, present, and future and affects all aspects of our human being-ness. One of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves, is to nurture awareness of this power within us, so we can use it as a sacred force for good, for joy, for pleasure, for healing.

My space is a safe place to explore, understand and embrace your sexuality openly and honestly.

The truth will set you free.

With compassion,
Shay
